Synopsis
“She wanted to save animals, she accidentally weaponized tofu!”
In 1986, Giulietta DeLuca is born into a centuries-old bloodline of Italian witches, though she grows up completely unaware of her family's supernatural legacy. As a rebellious teenager, Giulie is far more interested in punk rock, animal rights activism, and playing with her friends in their band than in the strange powers beginning to awaken inside her.
Everything changes when Giulie and her friends break into a slaughterhouse to rescue animals from certain death. During the mission, a powerful emotional surge combined with her dormant magic accidentally gives life to Ti—a walking, talking, punk-rock killer tofu. Born from Giulie's compassion for animals, rage against cruelty, and untapped witchcraft, Ti is a chaotic supernatural being who has been trapped within her heart. When a deadly confrontation forces Ti to separate from Giulie's body, his arrival unleashes forces far beyond anything the teenagers could have imagined.
Suddenly, Giulie and her friends are thrust into a hidden world of witches, monsters, secret military black-ops programs, and wealthy elites willing to kill to conceal the truth. While Ti struggles between his violent nature and the ideals that created him, Giulie must learn to master her inherited powers and uncover the secrets of her family lineage. Together, the young punks and the DeLuca's find themselves battling supernatural threats, corporate corruption, and government conspiracies—all while trying to survive high school, keep their band together, and continue fighting for the animals they set out to save.
Blending punk rock, dark humor, horror, action, and supernatural adventure, Killer Tofu is a coming-of-age comic about friendship, lore, rebellion, compassion, and discovering that the greatest power comes from standing up for those who cannot defend themselves.
